This recent development is reminiscent of a Cape Cod style design, with a steep pitched roof, gables, and natural wood siding. The interior layout is planned around a large central fireplace. The rounded windows and cheerful colours mixed with neutral stone fit well with this large lake-front property on Georgian Bay. This home was constructed in 2015.
This collection of craftsman style homes is located in the Collingwood area, and each were designed with an alpine look to compliment the local architecture in proximity to the Blue Mountain ski resort. The American craftsman style originates in the 1930's and these designs borrow elements from that movement including gables, decorative brackets, mixed exterior materials, and a front porch situated under the extension of the main roof.
This Craftsman style design is inspired by details from Vancouver residential architecture. Craftsman elements seen here include the prominent front porch with railings, soffit detailing, eave brackets, natural shingle and siding details, angled roofing details, garage faces, and building materials reminiscent of the 1800's. This design was constructed recently by Baric.
